“What’s a buzz book?”

I got the impression I was supposed to know, but when my editor, Melissa Singer, told me Benefit of the Doubt was a 2015 Buzz Book, I didn’t have a clue what she was talking about.

I do now.

Each year, Publishers Marketplace selects a limited number of titles to feature as buzz books. These titles are chosen as those likely to “top both bestseller and best book of the year lists.” For Spring/Summer 2015, a total of forty titles were selected. Benefit of the Doubt was among the eleven titles from debut authors.
